Arctic Circle is about 3 penguins who have left Antarctica and moved North to the Arctic. Sort of the opposite to the creator, Alex Hallatt, who left the UK and moved South to New Zealand, before moving over to Australia, where she now works in Elwood, Melbourne.

The comic strip has an underlying environmental theme, as green issues are important to Alex, though, like the characters in the strip, she struggles to live sustainably in a 21st century world.

The penguins, Oscar, Ed and Gordo, live in the small Arctic town of Snowpeak, with Frank the polar bear, Lenny the lemming, Howard the snow rabbit and Hector the Arctic tern.
